defying the rain bike club

I got a text message from the bike club president deciding that today was officially a "rain out", though since I wasn't going to be able to make the next day's make-up, I told him that I would battle the elements and meet anyone else brave enough to do the same. My roommate joined me as I pedaled my usual bike club warm-up into downtown Ferndale. It was only misting and the radar I checked before leaving made it look like the rain would let up.

There was one other guy waiting at the Mobil station when we got there. A girl I didn't know joined us, and I texted a couple of the other bike club officers but they said they wouldn't be able to make it. We waited until the customary 12:30 for more potential riders, but it ended up being just the four of us. I led the ride down to Hilton and north across Nine Mile. We headed west to the other side of Woodward and eventually came across a couple garage sales. I bought some Christmas knick-knacks and an argyle sweater. We ended the ride around 2:00 at Ferndale High School where there was a craft fair being held.

It drizzled for the early portion of the ride, but towards the end the sun started coming out, and it even got hot and humid when I headed home. Bike club always seems to bring out the sun.
