Five boxes made it out of the sunroom and into the attic. Two spindles worth of CDs were pulled from the wreckage to be perused - some I might happily give a listen to, but most of which will hopefully end up in a landfill or part of some elaborate art project I haven't yet imagined. A desk, a dresser and two end tables were moved into the garage, waiting to see what furniture my new roommate brings with him. At the very least we'll have a pool table and a couple couches. The basement is going to become a second living room.
Once the sunroom was empty save a single couch that was given to me by an ex-girlfriend, I pulled up the carpet to expose the tile floor underneath. It is a very light off-white with little flecks of gold which makes the room brighter and friendlier than the pink carpet did, even if the curtains still remind me of my grandparent's cottage. I'm sure the old lady who lived here's ghost would surely have stopped me sooner if the house was haunted. Maybe she's just content that I kept the ceramic switch plates or the smelling salt that was taped inside the kitchen cabinet.
