Does the phrase "like pulling teeth" refer to having your own teeth pulled or trying to pull someone else's? Regardless, I'd rather yank a molar out of someone's mouth than remove carpet staples. At least my roommate helped me pull up tack strip, and now the only carpet still in my house is on the stairway leading upstairs. Fear of a terrible accident involving slippery socks and failure to grab a handrail is making me keep it for the moment.
Last year was rife with necessary fix-up projects after I bought the house. I'm starting to feel like this summer is going to be full of home improvements as well, but at least at this point they're simply cosmetic and adjunctive. And now I've got my best friends to share my home with.
